Are you working on a product that is actually data or has data as a core component?
Do you depend on near real-time pipelines and machine learning to enrich data and make it valuable? Do you use platforms like Snowflake, Dataiku, Fivetran, dbt, and data.world?
Come network with some of the top engineers working with technologies in the Austin area and hear them share what has worked for them and what hasn’t. Let them help you diagnose any challenge that you might be facing.
If you are a practitioner in one of those technologies and would like to share your know-how, you are welcome to come and join the fun.

Our December 5th meeting will feature a special guest. Nikita Pestrov shares a practical application of Apache Iceberg tables to efficiently move over 500 million analytics events per day between BigQuery and Snowflake. Drawing on the latest advances in Iceberg support by both cloud platforms, Nikita demonstrates how dbt’s source management and incremental models can be leveraged to streamline workflows in cloud data warehouses.
This session highlights how Iceberg can move beyond being seen as a modern trend to become a practical solution for common ELT workflows. The 15–20 minute talk will include actionable insights, existing challenges and conclude with a Q&A session to discuss real-world challenges and applications.
Nikita Pestrov is a Senior Analytics Engineer at Zello, a leading push-to-talk communications platform for frontline teams. At Zello, Nikita has applied cutting-edge tools like Apache Iceberg, Snowflake, and dbt to develop scalable and impactful data products.
With over 8 years of experience in the data space, Nikita has worked with clients such as Mastercard, the World Bank, and PWC, building distributed cloud-native data pipelines and delivering solutions for data insights. He has a strong foundation in AI/ML and SaaS product management and has served as a mentor and jury member at multiple hackathons and as a lecturer at universities.
Outside of work, Nikita enjoys exploring cityscapes and modern architecture, drawing inspiration from urban design and innovation.
